Quilt Kits - Perfect For Beginner Quilters

The process of choosing a Quilt Pattern and then picking out all your fabrics can be a fun and creative & experience. But sometimes, it can be a total headache!

It can be hard to work out if the fabrics you've chosen actually go together, plus it can be frustrating to hunt down all the different prints, especially if one of them is out of stock and you end up having to source them from different suppliers!

Sometimes, I just fall in love with the fabrics used on the cover of a Quilt Pattern and just want to make that quilt. 

When I first began making Quilts, quite often I would purchase a Quilt Kit. The photo above shows a quilt I made in 2019 from a kit, which contained all the fabric I needed to make the front! 

But even now, after making lots of Quilts I still love kits. I just love having everything I need so I can start making it straight away!

In the Quilt Kits Floss Candy stocks you can find the following included;

• Enough quilting cotton fabric to make the Quilt Front in the expressed size and colourway
• A Quilt Pattern (either a physical paper pattern or a link to download a PDF)

What's not included;

• Fabric for binding or backing (except The Strawberry Mason Jar Kit which has fabric for binding)
• Wadding/Batting
• Sewing supplies, such as thread, scissors, needles etc.

The reason I don't include fabric for binding/backing/wadding is that it would make the kits less affordable - many Quilters make Quilt Fronts and then purchase the other supplies at a later date to spread the cost. Plus, we Quilters have a strong personal preference! I just love 80/20 wadding but it's not everyone's up of tea!

This Quilt Kit features fabrics from The Strawberry & Friends Collection designed by Kimberly Kight For Ruby Star Society. This quilt kit uses a Charm Pack for the mason jar contents meaning it's very quick to make up the blocks making it ideal for beginner quilters.
